Realism Invictus

Can't remember the name, but there's a mod/mechanism for other mods that associates civs with certain terrain types, and places them there accordingly on random maps. So seafaring civs get placed near coast, civs from tropical regions don't get placed in the arctic, etc. This seems like something very useful to include in 3.2, and it'd save me a lot of trouble and spoilers opening up the map editor to place everyone where they need to go. Any chance of including it?

Thanks for the tip, Darkphoenix :)

Edit: found a little mistake in one of the tip you have when you are on the loading screen.
"Press the ctrl+alt+o or pressing the green button in the upper left corner"
But that was the button from the original bug mod i think, you changed it for a brown suitcase.
Yeah, it's not much but your game has so few bug, it's hard to find something bigger :p

I just started playing this mod and it's very fun so far. I was looking through the tech tree though and had one nitpick that isn't even gameplay-related: why is the wonder unlocked by the Nuclear Fusion tech a "Cold Fusion Plant"? Given that this mod is supposed to be based on realism, that's highly unrealistic. All major real-life fusion research (ITER, etc.) is all based on hot fusion and almost no scientists believe in cold fusion.

3.1 flat out won't work now. It doesn't even load, it just flashes the installation process in Task Manager then shuts down just as quickly. I can't figure out what's with it.

This is what I was talking about; FlavourMod for FFH. This would be really great to adapt for this version of Civ. Certainly would help with the "realism" bit, not to mention the terrain-specific bonuses of a lot of UUs.

Ok in my 3.1 game I successfully modded cannons and bombards to only do collat damage to 2 units/ cut total collat damage/ but gave then a 2 range. Working well and the best part is AI likes them and will bombard troops at range :goodjob: It help the AI use then better but also by cutting number of troops each cannon hits it makes it harder to stack. I also made then a national unit with a limit of 40> so far which should be a pretty good number for medium and large maps. I made similar changes in a few civ3 mods and it makes overall gameplay funner, imo.

Bug Report.
When i play as game hangs and crashes when game screen jump to Piechota i Piechota liniowa unit (Infantry and Rifleman for polish empire). Enabling single unit graphic helps with Piechota liniowa but not with Piechota. I'm playing SVN version 4336 but this bug was present in 3.1.
I attach saved game. To reproduce bug simply fortify every unit. Eventually game will hang and crash. Hope you can fix this.

Firstly, I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, but I actually got an MAF very early in the game, when my Civ died. It let me view statistics and such, and then when I clicked exit, MAF. Apparently exiting out of the Victory/Defeat screen is very resource heavy.

And secondly, does this mod feature that "viewport" option?

Edit: Alright, wow. I can't load or save games by 3000 AD, without getting a MAF. This is on a large map, very early on, and I'm positive my system isn't overloaded this early in the game. I don't even have graphic settings on high (single units, not 3), I do however have the "more realistic textures" option from the installer, if that matters. I've never had a large mod like this stop me this early before, I'm hundreds of turns early, and that's WITH higher graphics than I have enabled currently.

Is your OS 32 bit or 64 bit?

Is your OS 32 bit or 64 bit?

32bit, and I'm aware of the inherent problems causing inevitable MAF's, but 50 turns in is absurd, considering I wouldn't even get MAF's for a few hundred turns of something like RoM, which is itself a huge mod. I'm not playing on a world map either, just a randomly generated large map.

Champs!!
I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting,,, but no new release,,
I want to play a last epic game,,,so I got 2 options
1. wait more , wait more until kingdom come.
2. or someone tells me how to do the svn thing..?

I get the feeling that because most of you guys do the svn thing, a new official release is not that important..
Please help me

Thanks for keeping the game alive,, if firaxis would have relased CIV VI with this mod preinstalled, the sales and critics would been of the charts!!

I think I found some typo's in the first contact text of Carlos V and Joao.

Carlos V: ''What language will speak"

Joao: ''I rule the Portugal"

Also I wanted to ask, are the Gauls meant to be part of the French civilization? The Neitos and Imannae seem to be Celtic but everything turns Frankish after those.

Is there anyone playing the SVN on multiplayer/lan. Does it work?

Yes it works on LAN.
However I have a few issues and the most annoying one is probably in the scoreboard, where it shows incorrect city numbers for each civilization. Other than that it works fine!

where it shows incorrect city numbers for each civilization.

Do you mean it shows a number other than the number of cities you have discovered? I'm just asking this because a few months ago I noticed the numbers were "wrong" and then after I wrote up a big bug report, I realized the scoreboard only counts the cities my civ can see on the map, not how many they actually have.

Ah it may be the thing... in 3.1 that number was relevant to the number of cities even if you didn't discovered them... maybe that in 3.2 you have to actually discover the cities to have that counter working?

I believe this to be correct aswell..never thought of it as a bug though..made sense to me. :coffee: For me this encourages the use of spies:espionage: ,and whatnot.

Yeah, it's better "immersion" or what not. I think you can still find out the exact number of cities when demanding peace deals or maybe even in any trade screen, but that's probably hard coded.

I keep getting minor graphical glitches, where at the feet of the Greco-Roman worker, a large pink circle forms. This pink circle also forms randomly, on some paths, staying there til more paths are built, or you upgrade to road (as I haven't seen road glitch out, but paths have glitched all 4 games of mine.)
