"Really Cool Guy" WTH?!

I've seen this phrase used in a few threads - it's obviously an insult but what are it's origins? Is it just straightforward sarcasm or is there something more to it - for instance, some sort of reference to a thread/poster long gone/banned?

It comes from Lefty. He likes to use that instead of a real insult and will also replace other poster's insults with that, usually in blue....

It is the generic replacement for prohibitted insults, serving both as the moderator warning against inslult/flaming, and removeing the inflamitory material. Its has since become the generic non inflamitory insult.

I never made to the comedy circuit. I even quit my after dinner speaking hobby after my then 5 year son shut me down with heckling. I was practicing some icebreaker jokes for an after dinner speech to a lodge, an after hearing them, my son with the most angelic look on his face, and with his hands folded together, said:
"My, what a very tiny joke".
