I wanted to recommend one but couldn't really find any place where it would be appropriate, thus I make this thread.

What games can I submit?
The game doesn't have to be the best, but should be interesting or entertaining.
It doesn't have to be made with flash, It can even be a download, but it MUST be free.

How to submit!
Start with the title of the game and a link to the game.
A line or two about what the game is like, mention if it is a download.
A warning about excessive violence or strong language would be appreciated.

Socrates Jones: Pro Philosopher
A "More than slightly influenced by the Ace Attorney series" game. Uses the mechanics of the game to look at debating and philosophical ideas of morality.

If you're including downloadable games, Battle for Wesnoth. Tactical TBS with RPG elements.

Wesnoth is pretty good.

There's also Warfare: 1917 (rated T on Newgrounds). Warfare: 1917 and Warfare: 1942 (the sequel) are tug-of-war like games. In the 1917 Newgrounds Campaign, only the British are available but the Germans are available in Skirmish and on Armored Games.

The first game is basically about how well you can either take trenches or bleed the enemy dry while dealing with artillery and mortar strikes and, later, poison gas and tanks. Victory for 1917 is either having a squad reach the enemy spawn or causing enemy morale to hit zero by inflicting disproportionate casualties.

1942 expands the number of attack lanes from one to three, with units in adjacent lanes being able to target each other. There are again two ways to win. Either you have a squad that reaches the enemy's spawn from the middle lane or you inflict a high number of causalities or flank a lot. Flanking is if you have units that reach the enemy spawn in the top or bottom lanes.

As you can imagine, middle lane victories can be tough since everybody can get everything in the middle lane.

In both games, I typically turn off tanks in skirmish. The focus on cover and infantry makes tanks rather boring. In 1917, it becomes who can get more tanks on the map fastest while spamming support powers to wipe away enemy tanks (and by extension, nearby infantry).

1942 is gorier than 1917 though.

Heli Attack 3

How about some Cookie Clicker? It's the type of game that you'll leave running for several days, sometimes even overnight if your rig can handle it. Free, addictive... And cookies.
