Recovering accidentally deleted files

I have a fairly lengthy DVD collection that takes up too much space. I plan to copy the DVD's on a fairly big external hard drive and have done a couple DVD's every day (and plan to eventually put them all in a box and store them somewhere). So, I legitimately own these DVD's and nothing untoward is going on.

Anyway, today I had a brain cramp and instead of deleting a particular folder that I was going to put a DVD inside, I accidentally deleted the folder containing all the DVD's. It happened really fast and there was really no chance to press cancel. After that happened, I knew that I should not do anything more to the external hard drive until I recover the deleted files.

From reading the internet, there seems to be several free data recovery programs. I've tried using Recuva, but with no luck thus far. I've done the deep scan of that particular drive, but not a single file has turned up. I've search under video and documents settings. I suspect that since I burnt these DVD's as ISO files that maybe I should try other files as well.

I've got 3 questions:
1) Should I search under other files for my ISO files?
2) If I run Deep Scan for that search, will it display files that it finds as they are found or at the conclusion of the scan (which takes forever due to how big the hard drive is)?
3) Can anyone recommend alternative data recovery programs in case nothing turns up using Recuva?

I appreciate any help for not having to waste hours re-burning these DVD's.

Did you delete to recycling bin or use shift-delete?

I used Shift-Del, but it was from an external hard drive.

I use EasyRecovery Professional. It's about a $500 program, but I think there's some kind of (limited?) free trial available. Honestly though I've used it on several occasions to recover large (several hunded MB to 1 GB+) video files and pretty much every time I've done it there has been some degree of corruption in the recovered videos.
