It's probably a popup window as you are clicking... If I hit the forums button before I can visually see it, I skip the popup window completely...

SOunds like what floppa mentioned, has happened to me once or twice. Darn Poop-ups! 
And floppa, shouldn't you give me a littel recognition in your sig. Perhaps some " marks and a little - Gonzo on the bottom

A very annoying pop-up is the pop that takes the whole screen(the one with a windows explorer screen and a monkey).
Everytime,i must pressCtrl+Alt+Suppr and click on "End Task" to get rid of it.

I don't care.
Get a popup stopper utility. They are great. I never have to deal with annoying popups again. The popup stopper I use is made by Panicware. The free version works just fine.

i agree with Switch625 panicware software works wonders in the fight against pop ups.

Hardly, everyone knows prevention is better than cure...
Though I can understand this if your work or something doesn't allow you to download stuff such as Pop-Up Stopper

I also haven't seen a popup on the forum in a long time. Were you browsing another site the same time you browse the forum?

Btw, this isn't a pop-up I'm referring to - it's a full-fledged redirect. One minute I'm trying to get into the forums (or fora, if you prefer), and the next I'm staring at travel offers to a couple spots in Florida. I have to hit the back button to return to Civfanatics.
It just happened a few minutes ago (again!), and it took a couple of tries to return. I could see my browser (IE 5.5) struggling to figure out where to go.
Anyway, just wanted to call y'all's attention to it. I don't mind the popups that vanish with a mouse click, but this is nutty.
And for those wondering, I'm at work, and the admins here have closed the door to downloading much of anything. So that means I don't have a pop-up stopper.

I've never had any problems with a redirect.
Me neither. Didn't see any 'vacation' pop-ups or even any pop-ups for the longest time already.

It happened to me once like a week ago.. was real weird.
Sounds like you need a vacation, Corn ...
And speaking of crazy, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one being singled out for this redirect hell. And, yes, it's still happening. The irony, of course, is that I've taken more vacation this summer than any other summer since I went to Europe back in '91.
