Reducing Anarchy Period

Now I get.

But I don't like the idea of removing it, because I usualy do the "Whats the big picture" to define a goal for Technology research (without thinking every turn about what to discover next). Usefull in some long games...

About exploiting, IMHO, every competition game should be clear about what is allowed. Everything not listed as allowed is implicit prohibited. But that's is only a opinion...

@NobleLeader, dont really get your point

Removing the button doesnt mean tech path settings cant be done. Especially people who use tech path setting dont need the button because they know the right tech will be researched any way except when the goal tech is discovered.

On top of that the button is unnecessary as setting a new tech once your turn has started ' proper' has the same effect. Problem with the button is that it interferes with the city upkeep resulting in strange effects.

Well, the big picture may be just fine, as long as it was forbidden to access other advisor screens in that phase of the game. Same goes with production prompts/arrow-cycling through other cities at the end of the prompt chain (mess around with production, working tiles/specialists, finally soup up RNG seed by unit-rushing after reloading to prevent a culture flip). IIRC, this issue has been adressed in the patch request thread by SirPleb and let's hope Firaxis pays really attention to it.
So the big picture (etc) should just have reduced interface options in special phases of the game. I guess such an implementation can't be too hard - for example, 'investigate city' (=give you a city screen) already has reduced interface options.

I find it hard to believe such an obvious exploit is to be allowed in GOTM.

If it is, then it must be publicised on the GOTM site. I certainly didn't know about this, and if I did I would have assumed it wasn't allowed. I think anyone who has played through 8 turns of anarchy (not me fortunately), has a right to feel aggrieved by this.
