Reducing the Culture Req for Legendary

This may just be inexperience talking, but it seems like there's not really any option for victory with a smaller builder Civ, aside from an Altar of the Luonnatar Victory. If I'm not mistaken, +Culture caps at 230% or so, as opposed to Vanilla's 500% (Assuming you spread the Wonders around). Further, there's less +Culture on buildings (I believe there's 2 from the Obelisk, 5 or 6 from the proper temples, and 3 from a theatre). With such a lower amount of +X% Culture, shouldn't the threshold for Legendary Culture be reduced accordingly? It's not many more options, but it /would/ be an option, and I imagine, relatively painless to implement. Or is it mostly just inexperience showing? I seem to have trouble getting the mana for a magic win without multiple vassals and a continent spanning empire, at least.

@magic victory:
I haven't tried in 0.30 yet, but in the early 0.2x you could raze your own nodes and rebuild other mana nodes then.
thus you would just need 4 nodes in total.
Dunno if that got fixed though.

@culture:
It's harder than in civ 4 vanilla/bts, thats right, but still doable. (at least with Balseraphs) You have to assemble culture alot more with the science/money/culture slider and turn all those cottages into culture production.
Early bards as superspecialists also help (doh!)
If you don't need your other cities to build important structures or any military units, I always build disciples. +20 culture is not that much, but every little bit helps out.

Downside: Alot of micromanagement for your disciples just being built to get sacrificed for culture in anothe city :(

But at the core you are right: it's alot easier, even with "builder civs", to achieve a conquest/domination (mostly due to tech advantage in troops) victory than a culture victory.

Have you seen the new Syliven's Perfect Lyre? You can pick it up and move it from city to city for +4 culture and +100%. Very useful for shuffling round your 3 legendary target cities. Culture is even slower in FfH than in vanilla though, but farms+agriculture+sanitation (which is waaay earlier than biology) will let you hire a bunch of bard specialists. Caste System is still nifty, too. The Octopus Overlords is probably the best religion thanks to its extra cultural temples.

Oh, and playing as Keelyn you've natural stuff for culture - creative plus lots of culture buildings, and the freak show is good too.

Also, its not much but I think the theater of dreams gives +2 culture to bard and great bard specialists in all your cities. Can't say I ve ever actually won culture victory myself though.

yeah Balseraph culture victory is pretty much doable. Spam great artists and add a few animals and slaves to give you a lot of culture. You should also aim for liberty and guilds for the +2 culture per spec and +100% culture bonus.

I think the culture victory is eay enough, although I (and my typical human opponent) tend to play builder style. All the things already mentioned in the thread help. But also get as many religions as possible going in the 3 culture cities. Each temple gives a culture percentage bonus. Combined with the right civics, wonders, and one or two super bards (not all in the same city) and a high culture rate I have gotten cities producing 600 or more culture a turn.

About the magic tower victory: besides taking nodes on the map, you can also get various mana types by founding as many religions as possible and "building" the holy sites, and building certain other wonders. Just saying that you don't always have to be a conquerer to win the tower victory.
