Hello.

I do not think this is relevant only to HoF, but the HoF is where I've seen it and is most relevant-

I was looking at a number 1 HoF game (http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/game_info.php?entryID=21634) that has the following written in it's "player log" tab on turn 0 :
The villagers give you gold! You have received 111 gold!
The villagers give you gold! You have received 216 gold!
The villagers have provided you with a map!
The villagers give you gold! You have received 240 gold!
The villagers give you gold! You have received 96 gold!
The villagers have provided you with a Settler!
The villagers have provided you with a Worker!

Now I know people can get lucky but this was impossible. (All credit to Schon, my cousin, for the realization that it was impossible)
I looked at the player log of the 4000BC save, before moving any unit, and it already had :
The villagers give you gold! You have received 111 gold!
The villagers give you gold! You have received 216 gold!
The villagers have provided you with a map!
The villagers give you gold! You have received 240 gold!
The villagers give you gold! You have received 96 gold!

Alas, the player's cash was 0, and scouting indeed produced the settler and worker.
I realized that this is a bug, and that the "player log" still remembers older games and lists them under 4000BC.
I did manage to recreate this :
1. Pop a hut in 4000BC.
2. Regenerate map.
3. Look at "player log", which still remembers it.

I do not know if this is a BTS bug or a buffy or how they interact.
I'm just reporting. :)
Booga.

It's well known minor bug and it doesn't affect on the game. You are right, it's just not cleared log events from previous attempt of regenerate maps.

I'm glad it is known... it IS confusing at the HoF, that's why I mentioned it.
Also, as you noticed, I wasn't quick to jump to conclusions, and checked and verified that it is a bug.

What I still want to know.. can buffy fix that? some function to reset the log on start of game?

I guess I skirt this with mapfinder which has the advantage of free time to be spent elsewhere while it runs.

I rather like the bug as I can see what people are doing before they find a map regen that they like. It's interesting to see what people actually turn down.
