Release dates

I saw "CIVILIZATION III" at www.amazon.co.uk and their release date for the game was 28 December 2001. In the USA you will have the opportunity to buy it soon; I can´t really understand why we here in Europe have to wait so much extra time to buy the game. Why not a International World Release Date, so everybody have the chance to buy the game at the same day? (That would be more fair for everyone...)
