Relgious Percentages in Each City Don't Work?

The manual suggests that each city should display the percentage of your people who are following a particular religion. I can see the icons light up to show a religion is present in my city, but see no percentages or other displays that show the proportion when more than one religion is present.

Is this a bug, or just a feature that got dropped? If it got dropped, how do you know if your religion is "spreading?" Is it a, "Once you get it into the city, it's there forever and there are no percentages," type of thing?

EDIT: I'll double post this over to the bugs forum, since I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature that got dropped, and I'd like the answer.

I would assume it's a feature that got dropped because it wouldn't make any difference on the game. Who cares if 77% of your city are muslim and 23% are hindu? You will be able to make either one your state religion, and build the buildings the religions make available to you.

There's no way to get rid of a religion, and the percentage of people in your city with that religion has no affect on anything whatsoever.

Makes me wonder if they initially intended for religion to have a much larger effect and then they decided to scale it down until it became what it is now.

not so.
religious affiliation play a role when you capture a city - how many turns of resistance you suffer is influenced by religion - it's in the manual, too.

I made this point a couple of days ago. Question is, is the influence percentage of each religion on the religious advisor screen an indicator of global religious influence or your civilisation's religious influences ?
