I was wondering if there was a mod that brought back the impact of religion in Civ IV. I thought the ability to choose an official religion even if you didn't discover one was an incredible feature. This in turn provided benefits for your cities that were following that religion and negative impacts for your cities that were following a different religion. Religion in Civ IV also created the scenario for holy wars. Civs of different religions had negative relations with you, though you could improve those relations via trade, etc. I love the way Civ V allows you to spread religion, enhance religion, etc. However, religion/faith is nonexistent if you don't discover one. Please let me know if anyone has created a mod that brings back a lot of the features of religion in Civ IV. Thank you.

I have wanted this for a very long time. This would be particularly useful for scenarios. There are no mods that do this, but the Into the Renaissance scenario in G&K does some interesting stuff. (All civs start with predetermined religions but only get the bonus if they control their holy city, and civs get diplomacy bonuses or penalties for same/different religion. It should not be too hard to turn that into a mod, which I would do if not for my complete ignorance in lua.
