Religious and Domination Victory

Hello All,

I am rather new to the game with about a month of play time. I enjoy the religious and domination aspect of the game.

Is there a civilization that leverages religion to empower their domination power? I saw Spain but I almost always play on Pangaea or Terra map. That said, does Spain loose a lot of his advantage when playing on those two maps?

Any thoughts or experiences based on your game play? Or, maybe Spain is the best choice for the style of play I am looking for.

Gran Colombia with the Crusade belief is very powerful.

Poland with crusade is fun and powerful if you can get the set up right. You don’t need to spend faith on apostles for conversion, as building a fort or encampment culture bombs adjacent tiles and instantly converts the city.
