"Remove your forces of declare war!" - Um, why?

just as a little side note...what would happen if you say, parked a unit on an island/continent that had EVERY tile occupied by the other civ. would you get the 'auto move'? and if you did, where would it move the units to?

@Qwertysoft:
I don't know, but maybe it would just move it over the continent, or maybe it'll crash with a runtime error!! :lol:

Units are moved overseas if necessary. Its one way to get them home again if your lucky galley got across the ocean, but can't get back....

Triremes in completely-hostile sea have been known to leap to the other side of a continent to find friendly parking places.... I suppose it wouldn't be any strnger if land units jump over the sea to go home.

This is strange...I hardly get the "remove or declare war" option to give to a rival. It's very annoying to have their units run around so close to key areas and run through 12 squares to get to the other side then go back. I'd really like to kick them out. It would seem more prudent sometimes to kick them out that way rather than get into a war you're not prepared for.

But, there's no rep loss if you just attack those units in the territory, right? Or would I have to declare war first and attack on the same turn or would even that not work (some code saying it's a RPO-rape, maybe?)?

If the number of enemy units inside your borders are low and they run around not too close to your cities, then they may get to stay some turn before you get the option of kicking them out. Your units get to stay exactly that long inside enemy borders, btw.

As long as you don't have any units inside the AI's borders or any ongoing deals with the AI, there will be no rep loss for declaring war and attacking the same turn. I don't think it matters whether you declare war before the attack or not. I have never checked though, but there is no reason not to declare first, so you might as well do that.

Again back to the original point:

We need a couple of choices in these situations.

I'm not the AI, so I don't care for having to accept what the AI "thinks" I should "say".

Sure, leave "remove or declare" there, but add another less provocative line.

It should be up to the player to decide if s/he wants to issue the final ultimatum or simply tell the AI to move along.

You would not take a rep hit for declaring was, so long as you are not breaking a treaty. Normally, the person attacked (AI) becomes furious at the war against him, but not the rest of the AI. IE< no rep hit. However, It seems that if you attack a trespassing unit, but do not pursue the war, they will accept peace after a turn or two, and not get furious. Sort of like a precision strike... :)
