Element 112 - Copernicium
Formely known as Ununbium

so, it seems scientists are finally getting round to renaming some of those boring 100-and-something elements. this ones named after copernicus, and others have been named after einstein, nobel, fermi, mendeleyev, lawrence, meitner, rontgen, rutherford an possibly some others that i didn't spot on a quick wiki trawl. there are still quite a lot of unnilquadiums etc, so which scientists would you like to see honoured?

Yeah come to think of it, we do not have an element named after God.

Why do we not have a God element?

HE MADE ALL THE ELEMENTS

OUT OF CLAY

Chadwick, Pauli, Heisenberg, Planck, and Schrodinger would be a good start. Becquerel, too, but he does have a unit... although so do the Curies, and they've got an element, so why not?

I'd prefer to see the crazy manmade radioactive ones named for nuclear physicists and chemists over someone like Copernicus.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well, you'd think the scientists naming them would have thought that way. Maybe they're trying for some better Periodic Table PR after all its years glaring at kids in chemistry.

I think Jesusium, Christium (which has a certain ring to it), Lordium, Fatherinheavenium, or Allahium would be pretty cool.

On a similar note:

Yahwehium, Krishnium, Buddhium, Confucium, Taoium, Ramium, Indrium, Vayium, Agnium, Brahmium, Shivum, Vishnium, Kalium, Sarasvatium, Parvatium, Lakshmium, Kuberium, etc.

Or Thorium.

Wait a second...

Or flyingspaghettimonstium.
