Reposting Units

I have noticed that there are a number of fine units that have broken links or missing file messages. I am wondering if persons in possession of such files could perhaps share them with those of us less fortunate by reposting them. I am for example in great need of the fine Asha'man unit by CamJH.

Many of these units got lost when the site file upload system got hacked a while ago. The Asha'man unit is one of them.

If anyone has files that are no longer available for download, please submit them to the library.

Thank you Padma.It is monstrous that some person-some thing ,rather, would be grotesque enough to hack a nice community site such as this. Senseless destruction and an sttack upon the work and happiness of others by mindless human insects. You are quite right. It would be fine indeed if persons who have such lost files in their possession would submit them to the library.

Thanks,Steph.I cannot do it right away since I am a bit busy with my business,but I will get on top of it as soon as possible. If I remember correctly most of the lost units are in the Fantasy section.I will concentrate my initial effort in that area and i will send you a list of missing units. I have been thinking that perhaps someone could get an official and organized initiative going to round up those lost files from members so that the lost files can be restored to the downloads database. If enough people get together and get going on it I am sure that many lost files will once again be avalible. Perhaps you and some others cuold put out the word.

I've just checked my hardrive, and it's probably the only WOT unit I did not download.

That's okay Steph. My friend Drakonius has hundreds of units-many of them obscure and hard to locate-and much to his horror he neglected to download the Asha'man a couple/few years ago.He thought that he did-but he got distracted by something that day and he forgot.He was sure that he had it,but a few days ago,much to his horror he discovered that he too was lacking that fine unit. I am sure that someone in the Community has an Asha'man file and that it will eventually turn up. I do hope that people will begin reposting those lost units-a lot of good stuff was lost.

The hack occurred about a year ago (June 2008), and we put out a call for people to repopulate the downloads database. As you can see, it was *largely* successful. Unfortunately, there are still some gaps, e.g. the Asha'man.
