Reputation questions...

What about when an AI declares war on you when you tell them to leave your territory? Do you have to wait until the next turn to attack to avoid a rep hit, or can you start attacking his cities that turn?

As far as I know, this won't reflect as RoP-rape on you, because you did not declare war. But I've never tested it.

Here's a question on trades ending due to a civ being wiped out. :)

Will your rep be affected if you're exchanging some sort of lux or gpt with another civ when they're conquered? For example:

I'm getting 10gpt from a civ for spices, and that civ gets conquered 6 turns into the deal. Will my reputation be damaged?

Not if you have all your units OUTSIDE their border before you declear war. Declear war first, THEN move your troops into his territory.

That is my experience, as well. I often cross the border on the same turn I declare war and keep a Sterling reputation. It's when you agree to leave, but use that as an excuse to move next to the enemy capital -- that is what damages your reputation. Legally declared wars are considered strictly private matters by uninvolved Civs.

It is not a dishonor to declare war. It is only a dishonor to promise one thing and do another. Declare war before attacking.

Too answer that question. I have played 4-5 PTW games with 31 civ/ conquest/culture victory only enabled. It's very hard to keep them all happy in the end of the game, because it is so many of them now. When it is only few left of them, they all became annoyed or furious. It's many reasons fore that, as people already has written. But many of them change their political stance as soon as you have wiped out a civ. Not because you break a deal, but sometimes also because you have broken THEIR trades. A good example of that was when I wiped out two of the big guys. Before these wars, Arabia was concerned against me. After the war, and the end of those big guys, Arabia changed the political stance to Furious, and remained it fore the rest of the game. I did not made any classic rep hit mistakes. The reason was that they had BIG trades going on with my enemies, and it was bad needed fore Arabia, to remain in the tech race. This war did not affect those other remaining civs (20), since they either was allies or did not have any big trades going on with the big guys. So yes, I think it's possible, and it affect your attitude(PTW only I believe, since I have never noticed it before)......
