This isn't a mod request per se, but perhaps this still belongs here. If it doesn't feel free to move it to Mod Creation Help or wherever it would be more appropriate.

Now that we have access to an asset editor and a few gigabytes of art assets to work with... I'd really appreciate a guide as to how to actually play with them. I've seen it mentioned in some discussions, but a lot of the discussions seem to assume you already know what the filetypes are and how they're used, how Civ V asset editing worked, and other things... I'd like something that starts with the basics, as I know none of these things (and I can't be the only one). I try to open the Asset Editor and start looking at things and tend to just get completely overwhelmed at all the panels and options, and I have barely any idea how to interpret this information I'm being given--and even then I still can't seem to get it to load a 3D model of anything I actually want to look at.

Some simple questions to answer would be, let's say you want to make a unique improvement (everyone seems so focused on units!), district, or building and have it actually appear on the map. A step-by-step guide in the simplest terms possible for where to start and how to progress. It'd be really, really helpful and very much appreciated. There aren't a lot of mods out there which are very helpful to look at and decode for this kind of thing.

I second that request, with the way it works released mods can't be used as examples.
