Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (Urdu: اسلامی جمہوریۂ پاکستان), is a country located in South Asia that overlaps with the Greater Middle East. It has a thousand-kilometre coastline along the Arabian Sea in the south and borders Afghanistan and Iran to the west, India to the east and the People's Republic of China in the far northeast.[4]

Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world and the second most populous Muslim country, after Indonesia. It was established as a modern state in 1947, as one of the two parts of the partitioned British India, but the region has a long history of settlement and civilisation including the Indus Valley Civilisation. The region was invaded by Afghans, Greeks, Persians, Arabs, and was incorporated into British Raj in the nineteenth century. Since independence, Pakistan has experienced both instability, with the loss of East Pakistan (present day Bangladesh) and significant military and economic growth. Pakistan has the seventh largest armed forces in the world and is a declared nuclear weapons state.

Possible Ideas for UUs:

Al-Khalid, is the Main Battle Tank of the Pakistan Army. It is the result of joint venture between China, Pakistan (Heavy Industries Taxila) and Ukraine (KMDB and Malyshev Factory). Ukraine provided the 1200-hp model 6TD diesel engine, designed for desert and hot climates allowing it to withstand extremes of temperatures. The tank itself is a licence production of the on the Chinese Type 90 MBT. Pakistan plans to induct 600 of these by 2007.

The tank has the capability of fighting at night as well as the ability to automatically track targets. It is a smaller tank than many of its contemporaries, with a crew complement of three. It also has state of the art automatic fire extinguishing and explosion suppression systems. More than USD $20 million have been spent over almost ten years on the development and manufacture of MBT 2000. The enemy engagement system of the tank is one of the best in Asia.

Special Service Group:

Special Services Group (SSG) is an independent commando brigade of the Pakistan Army. It is an elite special operations force similar to the ,Special Air Service and United States Army Special Forces(Green Berets). Official numbers are put at 2,100 men, in 3 Battalions; however the actual strength is classified. It is estimated to have been increased to 4 Battalions, with the eventual formation of 2 Brigades of Special Forces (6 Battalions).

Based out of Cherat and Attock, the SSG started out in the 1950s with active support from U.S. Special Operations Forces as an irregular military unit called the 19th Baluch Regiment. SSG officers must have at least two years of prior military experience and volunteer from other formations for three-year assignments with the SSG; NCO and enlisted men volunteer from other formations to serve permanently in the SSG.

All trainees must participate in an eight-month SSG courses which includes 36-mile march or more in 12 hours, a grueling requirement that was first institutionalized by 19 Baluch. They are also required to run 5 miles in 40 minutes with full gear, fully loaded. Following the SSG course, trainees must volunteer for Airborne School. This course lasts for four weeks and all SSG recruits must pass this course and wings are attainted after conducting 5 day and 2 night static-line jumps. A large number of the SSG operators are also HALO/HAHO qualified. Additionally, a Counter-terrorist hostage rescue company commonly referred to as Zarrar (previously Musa) Company (all companies and Battalions of the SSG have names ascribed to them) is also part of the SSG.

Many are selected for additional specialist training. A course is given at Peshawar with a 'skydiver' tab awarded after 5 freefall jumps. A "Mountain Warfare" qualification badge is given after completing a course at the Mountain Warfare School in Abbotabad; and a "Combat Diver" badge is awarded for the course held by the Naval Special Services Group SSGN at Karachi. Three classes of combat swimmers were recognized: 1st class to those completing an 18-mile or more swim in designated time period; 2nd class to those finishing a 12-mile swim; and 3rd class for a 6-mile swim.

SSG regularly sends students to the US for special warfare and airborne training. Later on due to Siachen crisis, a Snow and High Altitude Warfare School was also established.

Initially, SSG officers were sent in large numbers to the United States for Special Forces training. Today, it consists of various companies within each battalion specialized in specific roles including desert warfare, ranger, mountain warfare. Due to Siachen crisis, a Snow and High Altitude Warfare School was also established.

Then maybe you could also stop criticizing people for their mods then.

Hardly any of the mods work. Hence why I credizise. I mean you're going to make them overly elabrate you can't use everyones opinion in a mod. Thoes are the mods which don't work at the end of it.

I'm currently working on Pakistan at someone else's request.

Right in the middle of CIV Gold 2.0, though, so it will be a little while.

I requested you. But I thought you were busy so I just posted a request.

I've gathered pretty much all the info I need for the mod. I just need to find some time for a bit of graphics work. Hopefully on the weekend.

Make sure you include Sirkap as a city! It was where Alexander the Great's Illyrian soldiers built the Shrine of the Double-Headed Eagle :)
