Me and my friend are playing a game, but there's very little resources around.
I got no iron, saltpeter, rubber. coal or anything.

in total, there's 2 iron, 1 saltpeter, 1 coal, 1 aluminium, 1 uranium, 1 rubber, 1 oil etc. How come there's so little? Is it because there's only 2 players?

Just two players, sounds plausible.

If it is on a tiny or small map with just you two, then this sounds quite reasonable. There will usually be less of a resource than the number of players.
