resync errors

I'm not sure why you think signing a petition will have any effect.

If nothing else 1000 people signing a petition might give them an idea there is an issue. because from the 30 exchanges with the 2k support a few months ago, that alone is very hard.

So like said above, ive always had the fairly well known issue that when you host a game, and for whatever reason it goes into a resync u have like a 50% chance of you(the host) freezing up. Ive done all their hoops, guides tips and tricks 3 times over. they looked at my crash files and concluded my windows install was faulty, so i humored them ( me being an educated it pro, i knew my system was working fine) and installed windows 8 instead of 7. redid their tips and tricks things, and same exact issue was still happening. and no matter how hard i tried i could not get them to accept that the fault was not on my end but in the civ programming.

Now the same issue seems to have exanded some since the last patch, which might be a good thing. game goes into resync way more often, and like me a lot of hosts dont recover from the resyncs.

so their are 2 issues here imo.
1, the host crashing on resyncs under certain circumstances
2. there being to many resyncs.

both should be addressed sooner rather than later, but timely patches does not seem to be their forte...

I've had this same issue. Always play MP with a friend and have not had any issues until the recent patch. In our latest game it reloaded after every turn and every time it did, the barbarian I had killed/attacked, regained health....shame I didn't play as Monty!

I'll upload a save soon. Where do i find the save on my PC? Is it in the Steam files or in "my computer"?

I had constant reloads playing 1-on-1. Tried to play 4 person MP unsuccessfully. Multiple reloads, constant lockups, multiple attempts with different hosts. Unplayable.

We noticed if someone dropped, the AI would not take over even though their civ greyed out on the scoreboard. So the turn really wasn't finishing.

Firaxis need logs. And the right logs. Razorace has posted the required settings:

Code:
; Enable message logging
MessageLog = 1

; Enable rand event logging
RandLog = 1

; Enable AI logging
AILog = 1

; Enable Builder AI logging
BuilderAILog = 1

; Enable Tutorial logging
TutorialLog = 0

; Enable Tutorial debug window
TutorialDebug = 0

; Split AI Logging into separate files for each Player & City
PlayerAndCityAILogSplit = 0

; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 1

All players need this setup.

They have been given plenty of logs. They are too stupid to fix it. We need the old version back, and we need it fast. They are going to forget about this game before too long, leaving it broken for MP forever.

Most, if not all, of those logs have been useless, because people don't follow simple instructions.

The developers should have the resources to get two people on Steam to play a game together and look at the result. They shouldn't be dependent on paying customers to help them fix a universal bug they created.

It doesn't help when people act as if there isn't a problem with MP, because it is quite clearly broken.
Anyhoo Civ5 has been a broken game fundamentally, and I'm pretty sure a civ6 will be even more broken.

Of course it requires logs. Logs are needed to pinpoint the flaw in a very complex system. Whatever most people do, I and the ones I play with don't do it, as we've not experienced it.

I've been playing Civ for quite some time now with friends, and about a few weeks ago it started crashing and constantly throwing us back to the loading screen, every 20 turns at most.
Is there a fix for this? What's going on?
I thought it would get fixed sooner, I'd really like to continue playing this game...

Anyone? :confused:

Check out the other threads in this forum. Multiplayer's been broken for weeks, ever since they patched a "buy Beyond Earth" button into Civ 5.

Looks like there are changes in the Civ's file depot this morning, possibly meaning they are testing changes to a dev copy of Civ. This is the first action noted in steamDB in 19 days.

this MP sync issue is prevalent in EVERY release AND expansion since civ4.

it's not just a particular patch.

it doesn't matter who hosts.

all my MP games have been with one other human, and around 10 AIs on fractal or shuffle, on the largest map size, on epic speed (or the one below 'marathon' - i forget')

it usually occurs after year 1800. So a lot of time is invested before MP sync occurs.

the issue is clearly obviously from the masses of google hits when searching.

it's UNFAIR and the vendor has NO RIGHT to continue to release expansions and game revisions with the same bug that renders an advertise feature - multiplayer - useless.

I'm a working man, and i CAN afford to pay for release after release and expansion after expansion, hoping and yearning for a working MP feature, and it's clear the vendor preys on this. After 8 releases, it has become both an insult from and an embarrassment for the vendor.

It seems obvious to expect that the upcoming release of CIV6 will also advertise a non-functioning MP feature. So will do my _best_ not to buy.

I believe TAKE2 games should return everyone's money to the people who have paid for every CIV game with non-functioning MP.

It's most frustrating because the CIV games are SO DAMN GOOD. Better than <insert addictive drug here>.

I have written this information in a diplomatic manner to TAKE2 Games consumer advocate and not even had a response.

They're liars, cheats, and have NO RIGHT to continue to release games and expansions with REPRODUCIBLE GAME STOPPING BUGS. It's REPRODUCIBLE guys. You've had 10 years to fix. You have a bunch of coders, devvers, producers and testers. Why has it not been made a priority over simply making more releases?

Grrrr.

well acording to the official numbers of Freaxis not even 5% of the sold civ players play multiplayer
so it is not there priority to fix that :mad:

but Resyncs got kinde of rare lately
I had 6 player games with no resyncs at all
but that might be because we are using a modet version of civ in MP
