Returning to CM03/04

I was just playing Cm03/04 when looking through the international squads i found that iceland did not include a single Goalkeper with in their squad for world cup qualification playoff's and decided to play Gudjhonsen (the Chelsea Striker) in goal for both matches anyway the first match Iceland bravley won 2-1 against Slovenia but unfortunatly the were defeated 6-1 in the next leg with Gudjohnsen in goal

Is it because there were no fit Icelandic goalkeepers but more that enough outfield players so that the AI picked a full squad and therefore no youth replacements were added?

it didnt look a full squad but i thought it was for internationals that you could only pick players and none could be added even if you did have a lot of injuries it was still intresting that the manager couldnt find a single icelandic Kepper

CM can be a bit odd with call ups. If a player is injured before an international then you can reach a point where no new players can be added to the squad even though the player has been injured and removed from the squad.

Game 13/38

(4th)Atalanta 0-0 Palermo(8th)

Atalanta largely controlled the game but just couldn't find the back of the net with both teams going home with a point.

Game: Italian cup 2nd round 1st leg

Atalanta 0-0 Siena

For the second game in a row Atalanta failed to score in a game that they dominated. Pazzini was rested and the teamjust couldn't finish off any of their chances.

Game 14/38

(3rd)Atalanta 2-2 Perugia(6th)

Another home game and another disappointing draw.The game was largely controlled by Atalanta who came back from being a goal down early on to lead 2-1. Pazzini equalising late in the first half and Bernardini scoring from a freekick in the second half. However after taking the lead Atalanta sat back and eventually Perugia equalised.

CL Group C Match 6

(2nd)Porto 1-0 Atalanta(1st)

Ultimately quite a pointless game since both teams had already qualified. Porto dominated the game and deserved to win. Hopefully Atalanta will put up a much better performance in the knockout stage. Porto topped the group after this win. Atalanta will be playing Leverkusen.

(5th)Atalanta 0-2 Milan(2nd)

Atalanta continued their poor run of form after playing 4 home games and failing to win any of them. Milan won the game through great finishing with the score not reflecting the fact that Atalanta had chances to at least get a point from the game.

Game: Italian cup 2nd round 2nd leg

Siena 0-1 Atalanta (0-1)

Atalanta named an unchanged frontline in the hope of generating some consistancy and it paid off in the 81st minute as Pazzini scored the only goal of the game which puts Atalanta into the next round.

Game 16/38

(13th)Lecce 1-0 Atalanta(5th)

Atalanta's season is going down the drain as the team refuses to score. Lecce had 4 shots on target and won the match by converting one of those chances whilst Atalanta had 19 shots on goal and managed to waste them all. Atalanta will be looking for an improvement in the new year.

Oddly that will be my last game in charge of Atalanta as after an ultimatum for more Christmas funds was rejected, I was sacked... After some game editing to destroy someone else's career and up my stats to the maximum Atalanta finally offered me the position again to the same manager. After the appointment I changed the stats back.

The moral, always save the game first before doing something stupid since now several games have been played by the AI although I do have more money to spend. Not sure whether to bother carrying on.
