The laptop I bought half a year ago costed about 400 euros so I hope it will be enough to handle the new map. I'm going to save the old version of the game somewhere before I update, so I'll give it a look later today. During the weekend that laptop is the only device I have to play video games so I have to store the old version somewhere just in case. The pc I have from monday till friday is much more powerful so I presume the map won't be a problem then.

Yeah in my bactrian game (much hard to reach the 1st UVH than before with the older map, but doable, by the way) it was the same ; Seleucids had all Anatolia (except Pontus) and Egypt. As usual, Parthans didn't crush them...
I wonder is if would be better to make some IA at peace (at least at spawn) with far away independant cities, because when they are at peace with other civs, they send a lot of troops to conquer them - it's a waste of time.
