An update. Nothing too much, but some here-and-there work done over the last post (improvements to Italy/S. France/Corsica, Germany and Lowlands). Thanks to everyone participating in this thread during this time and made suggestions or posted files.

Sorry. I uploaded the wrong one. But I can't seem to upload another. It's just the northern islands since the changes, right? So I'll come back shortly with the English and Norse names and any others that might apply.
EDIT Here's a list of the islands from left to right at the top of the map.

Some of the Arabian cities that they take over usually (Tripoli, Algiers) rename those cities to other cities in the area (Tripoli = Sabrata, Algiers = Cirta). Tripoli would be Tarabulus and Algiers would be al-Jazair. Also, London in French is Londres .

OK. I was thinking of looking at France/ Low Countries area next, like from the Pyrenees to Amsterdam and west of the Rhine and the Alps. Maybe synching each tile for diff. languages. OK?

Will there be Spanish names for the low countries this version? That's the one area in Spanish I haven't tried to help with yet, can't wait to see how it turns out
Even when the English occupied Brittany, which wasn't very long, they would used the local names. Same with anywhere in France. So if they settle there they should use the local name. I was going to clean up the CityName map for France anyway. So I guess I'd better do that right now. Thanks for spotting that.
I'll use it as a template, but do you realize that none of my changes for Britain and the Northern islands are on it?
I just checked. Is it still OK to my France changes on it?
Funny. When I unzipped it I couldn't open it. Then I unziped it into the previous CityName helper and that's what I got. I'll look at it again.
EDIT: Have a look at this one. I've started editing Brittany but all the northern islands are unnamed. Can I still work on this one and send it when I'm finished?
