RFCA - Arts thread

I don't take it personally if you don't like them (say it out loud, there's no way ever you can freeze me out;)). They are also doing fine in my version only; whatever is best for the mod. Really.

Hey! I never said, that I don't like them :P. I just thought, that the Indian cows are so Indian... and wouldn't fit to let's say China. But then again, those European cows don't fit in there at all :D.

That's what i thought. An indian Zheng He is still a little better than an indian Lorenzo di Medici.
I'm going to make some more, even had, and maybe open a new thread for it (because the more threads we have the more likely we get an own subforum ). Just for the fun of making more animals. But they don't need to be a part of the official release.

I like the Gaozong! It's quite nice :)
But if I may suggest, how about making his beard not so.. how do I say that, numb?
-limited vocabulary-

Is there Gajah Mada LH? Got a link? hehe

How about creating 2 or 3 different graphic of Cow or the animals, and spread it like Indian cow in India and Chinese cow in China.. just like the Forest.. there are many different graphic for forest, spread in certain places, but after all, they're all the same right?

Thanks:)
I know what you want to say. I wanted to give him the beard of Wang Kon, only thinner. But the problem is that there is no chin or something under his beard; modelling isn't the problem, but i would have to stretch the skin and that would look weird.

Music is another issue. There isn't that much chinese music on Youtube:confused: To not get bored, like in SoI or vanilla CIV, we would need ~15 tracks per era, the first era maybe 5, so a total of roughly 70. Now we have, let me count a bit, 10. (in the next version of course;))
I'm currently thinking about buying some CDs. They aren't all too expensive, and i think it's worth it in the end.

RFCE had a similar problem with ivory, because they wanted to represent the ivory from walrusses and elephants. I think it's not possible via XML to have two types of art without having two types of resources. Maybe if you look into the SDK, but i never did that.

Hmm...
I just mean that his beard looks really shaped.. not so natural.. -trying to find a better word-

About music well.. I once found a nice Mongolian music.. it's really calming and really represent the steppes.. :)
Try to find with the keyword like VeBear said.. and be careful as some traditional music is still copyrighted by someone somehow...

Well.. maybe with spawning 2 different resources, Indian Cow and Chinese Cow.. but.. What's the point ? -.-"

We can use other music too, of course. But i think that it would sound strange to constantly switching inbetween indian, mongolian, chinese and, i don't know, south east asian music. They sound way too different, completly different instruments, it's not like the difference between Bach and Vivaldi (i like classical music btw. No one need to be upset about me saying this).
Maybe, whatever era you're in another music plays. Like indian music in Buddhist era, Steppe music in conquest or something along those lines.
And, Ben, those era names are a feature, not a bug:)

No I think it we could name the Era just Buddhist or Conquest or First Empires so the output is not Buddhist Era era but just Buddhist.. but well.. it's back to you :)
Btw, how about the Bug-free city name? hehehe

I like the idea of music per era btw.. it's nice :) Vote for it! lol.
Here's some nice song :)

Hey guys
I finally managed to upload the music. I collected the music on monday, but the whole week Rapidshare didn't work.
This is my new approach:
Archaic: download very few; i don't think we need all that much because you'll only hear it when you're playing Harappa and Zhou
First Empires: download Chinese; i always think about Qin when i hear "First Empires"
Buddhist: download classic indian music
Conquest: download mongol and turkish music
Modern: download here i put all that Black Whole rejected. He didn't like that orchestra style, but i try it again. It's chinese again, maybe others can be included later. That orchestra music may gives the era a unique touch.
So if you want to give feedback, download it and say what songs shouldn't be in. Don't be too reserved if you don't like one song, i got some more...

Could you try to upload your files somewhere else next time? RapidShare is now a really ugly download site, I have to wait 75 minutes for the next download... so it will take a while until I can add the music. I will make them a seperate download, as it is a quite huge amount of data.

Sure, but i don't know any other that's free and doesn't require a login:blush:

What about Gaozong?:D

I almost forgot to say: Gajah Mada looks damn good. Sorry for bi*ching around so much. It comes pretty late, but i hope you can forgive me:cry:
