They probably just lost a couple wars early on... Losing your third or fourth city can be a crippling occurence with effects lasting throughout the game... Anyways, America is never strong early on, they only become a superpower in the industrial age.Salamandre said:That was an intense game, this mod is simply awesome, thank you for all the work. I will try now as America, as they did very bad in my game. Arent they supposed to colonize the Iroquois and around? How come they are stucked at 2 cities in whole game with such big free land around![]()
It's not intended to be fun, it's intended to be realistic. All of the changes made to the base rules were made for good reasons, most of these reasons involve faster loading times and/or realism. They often go hand in hand, as for instance having large centers of population in deserts is both unrealistic and adds cities for the game to load, slowing it down. It's just the same with the jungles and marshes... They're supposed to slow down expansion.Salamandre said:The "clear marsh" must be tweaked, 80 turns may be right, but not FUN at all :suicide:
As I have found on several occasions when I unashamedly yelled that some feature needs to be changed, you will find that it's your strategy, not the mod, that must change. Simply escort your workers. Have one or two spears guard a few workers in one stack. The quick barbarians in eastern Europe and in asia are historically realistic and realistically slow down the expansion of the civs in this generally wide-open area. They can be overcome without reloading, and in the long run if you're careful enough at the start they do you no harm. Playing as Germany a long time ago at first the barbarians harmed me really badly at the start. So I started a new game, guarded my workers and slowly hunted down the barbs, and ended up conquering a huge portion of the world. The barbs may have cost me a few sweet potential city locations, but I conquered those from the Russians and Austrians later on easily.Salamandre said:I find also that mounted barbarians are too strong for the beginning, I had to reload thousand times because I cant see them coming and they aim ALWAYS for workers. Is there necessary that they have +2 moves so early?

I send you my saves of round 3. Is there a possibility that I can get the BIQ files of this fantastic round from you? I want to play mostly the first round without a limit.
I intend to set up part 1 as a normal downloadable version of the mod, but Atlantis is currently an incomplete civ so this will require alot of work and testing. I can only get started about a month from now, as I'm flying to Germany with no Civ in just under four hours.Blackbeard said:@RGC-Team
