For the record: that plains terrain was made by adding grasses to an old Ares plains terrain, so I also use that plains terrain as 'base' for the mountains on my Old West map, allowing me to put Mountains and hills on plains and desert with minimal peeks at the pre-programed grass base that the game uses for them. Modders can also find the first version of the plains files there, along with lx-terrain that blends very well with them.

Looks great with your terrain, Rick. Love those deserts. Missed this thread the first time 'round.

. - If you download the water pack and the desert pack and overwrite in any order, you´ll get all blended:
-Rick´s Water - Coast,Sea,Ocean;
-Rick´s Desert;
-Balthasar´s plains;
-Ronin´s grass;

Modders can also find the first version of the plains files there, along with lx-terrain that blends very well with them.

In this thread's preview the color looks different from those posted in the Western Map thread. Browner (here) or yellower (there). Don't know if that's because of a difference in the file(s) or just monitor/software color settings affecting the posted images - Ares base looks close to the same in all of them. So is what's displayed here an adjustment by Rick, Balthasar's implied second version, or just a trick of the screenshots?

Only asking because I'm looking for a special lm terrain to be used on an Africa map. & when combining terrains from multiple sets subtle differences like this can be crucial.

I think it´s a trick of the screenshots...i didn´t made any diferent versions from one to the other...

Wity your desert, my terrain pack is now perfect

Where did you get that terrain set? I want it! It's like the one in RARR but much better new oceans, and new forests too!
update ~ I found the forests from ronnin's terrain, unfortunately the colors on the plains and grasslands from RARR does not match the ones given by Rick. What terrain did Rick use? They weren't matching in ronin's either, and the old west wasn't even close. I also never found the goody huts and I like them a lot.
