Just learned that Sir Christopher Lee died on Sunday, June 7, at the age of 93. He had acted in over 150 films over the course of seven decades, was a skilled swordsman, released his first metal album at the age of 88, was the only actor in Lord of the Rings to have personally known J.R.R. Tolkien and got his permission to play Sauruman should the books ever be made into films, was the step-cousin of James Bond creator Ian Fleming (both of them served in intelligence work in WWII and Lee was the villain in the Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun), and was generally extremely interesting.
What a life.
