I was looking to get some feedback from the forum. My question is do you
feel that railroads take away from the military aspect of the game. I feel the railroads make the war part of the game, a simple numbers game. In example attack and then whisk your vehicle or knights etc... back to the city. There seems to be lacking a "line in the sand" where geographically the defender decides to make his stand at a certain point on his land. Historically battles for main roads and railroads have been part of the most intense parts of war. Armies live and die by the roads they control. In my opinion roads and railroads should have to connect from one city to another and then that's it. I just think that strategically it makes you decide that either A: you must defend the main artery of your country or B: you are going to exploit the main artery of a country and control the road or railroad system. Examples are the main road from Baghdad to Kuwait or the Greeks at Thermopylae. I understand completely that there are certain financial and production aspects according to the roads and RR's. I just feel that a beautiful map should not be covered with these RR's and take away from the strategy. What say you forum?
