RoM doesnt launch

hello everyone, i just downloaded the RoM mega pack 2.81 and the patch. The game loads fine, its a little slow, but when i go to launch the game after choosing civs and game options nothing happens. It just shows the picture of the earth and thats it. I have tried different size maps, but still get the same results. Can anybody help me with this problem? thanks

Have you tried Full or Lite v2.81? If you have, did those work ok? What kind of computer specs do you have? Mega version requires a lot from computer so you should first test the regular version.

I get the same thing too...Has something to do with insufficient memory for ROM Megapack.

Try deleting half of the civs and launching again, and if problem still persist delete more.

Is there a reason for this? I have a 'Runtime Error' message coming up with the crash too. Saying the application terminated in an unusual way or something

Have you updated your BtS to v3.19? Not having the game updated to latest version is the most common cause for the problem you're experiencing. And no, the game auto update system does not update to this version - you'll have to apply the update manually.

Well, I ran the BTS patch 3.19 and it completed the update. So I guess I'm running 3.19 along with RoM. By the way I have to say that this mod is MAGNIFICENT. Congratulations, and many thanks for creating it.

Tried the full version and it works fine with the exception of a few MAF crashes. Had about 4 MAF crashes in about 350 turns, not so bad i guess, other than that it works fine. My pc is a hp pavillion with windows xp 32bit, pentium 4 3.00ghz processor and 2.25 gb of ram. Civ IV BTS version 3.19. Im guessin that my pc cant handle the ROM Mega version, but thats ok because the full version is just as good. Thanks for creating this mod its a blast.
