Romeo3 Welcome to Rapid City (RaR OCC)

The ease of this game had more to do with the low-food AI starts than the difficulty level. The selection of opponents was also auspicious. No AGR civs, only one MIL civ. Barbs were our strongest opponent! :)

Good Work Team. Thanks a bunch for a fun game and variant.
The Ecology push was to get a windfarm to make Rapid a 1 turn armor factory.
The Siamese had their last city on that island. I paradropped over, killed the city and dksbanded the troopers.

Other than America, all opponenets were random. If you recall at the start of this, DocT and LK were mentioning that we had a low food, low shields start.
I think the ease of the game came from the strength of the team. We lured T-McC out of semi-retirement, microbe is very strong, I like war, and Bedhead is a very solid player now. ( I can officially say this because the 6 month Jumpmaster 1C game is over).
This game shows that a little discussion and preplanning goes a long way towards making a seemingly difficult SG seem easy.

Yes, T_McC is the finest RandR player I've had the pleasure of learning from, and Microbe, Romeo, and Bed have shown me the power of offensive thinking in RandR, but the AI was also pathetic in this game. Let this team have a crack at LK's OCC Deity game with Osman, and things wouldn't have gone quite so smoothly, I imagine...

I will take some small credit for my first set of turns, setting us up nicely for a tourism push and well-timed GA. Later turn sets were more mediocre...

;)

After playing quite a few xCC games, I come to the conclusion that in RaR you must have a very strong city (and since there are so many wonders, capital could be the one) which should start to build wonders at late Ancient Ages. This makes xCC games far easier in RaR than regular games.

I concur with Microbe entirely. I will be starting up a series (I hope) of 3CCC and 5CCC RaR games. Now that my play style is established in RaR, and there are a small core of bloodthirsty mates, I will determine if there is interest and play some more relaxed, kinda fun games.
I am actually thinking of a 5CC demigod game with my own spin. It would be called, "look at my Palace." The 5CC would be relaxed to build a palace, then strictly enforced again. The goal would be to get a palace (FP, SP, WP) in 3 different towns. The catch is that all the settings would be random, except pangea, and we take the first start that allows us to grow to size 3.
Any interest? I will probably wait a week or two to fire it up, depending upon interest level.
