Running civ3 from HDD instead of CD?

Anyone know how? I play it off a laptop and I need to plug in the CD-ROM drive. Gets quite troublesome. Can I copy the CD on to the HDD and play from there? And if so, how?

You could maybe just copy and paste all of the stuff from the cd i dunno if it would work but thats the best advice i can give

You'd have to make sure all the config files for Civ (example *.INI) point to the drive/directory it was installed from. So maybe the best thing to do is copy the CD to the HD then install from HD to HD

Plug in the CD drive? Maybe if you could you could buy a new laptop. I use a laptop and it has a DVD/CD drive on it and it's handy combination.

What you need is a no-cd crack but we do not allow links to those here and have to shut down threads requesting them since a major use of them is to install several copies of the game on different machines. aka. stealing!
