Also turnd cloud sync on and off on steam global, game local both on, both off either one on the other one off.

Still no Luck

This ist starting to reeeealy any me
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks

Players have been getting this error message ever since Civ 5 was released. One solution that works for some is to restart Steam in offline mode, then load your game. If that works, then perhaps you can later restart Steam in online mode. Another possible solution is to start a new game, then load your saved game from within that new game.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Petek. Tried offline mode before, does not work. Just tried to load ingame but that crashes too...
If this is happening since Civ5 came out, how can it be it isn't fixed yet? I mean OK i can play on my primary system but others probably won't be able to play at all. Can this really be that hard to fix?? Sigh...

The error message is probably caused by a corrupted save file. Do you have an earlier save (perhaps an autosave)? If so, try loading that. If saving to the cloud causes the problem, you might try saving to your hard drive, and then copying to a thumb drive to transfer the save between systems.

EDIT: Another idea is to resave the game on the system where you can open the file. If the current save file is corrupt, perhaps a new one won't be.

Thing is, as soon as i press the "Load" button Civ5 crashes. I can't load anything no older games no local saved no cloud saved.

Also i deinstalled the game, i manually deleted every single file left on the pc. AND deleted the cloud saves in the cloud (see link above). So how CAN a old corrupted file still give me issues... Unless of course i missed something

I thought from reading your original post that you were getting the runtime errors on your secondary system when trying to load a specific save. Is it the case that you get runtime errors on both systems when trying to load any save?

Until today it worked on my primary system for about 2 weeks or so. Now it works on neither system anymore... So i guess it is a corrupted cloud save.
I will now try again to delete my cloud saves. Is there maybe a easyer/better way than the one shown in the link? As it does not seem to work for me.

The game crashes right wenn clicking the "Load Game" button. The Error screen i can only see when i alt tab to the error message. Civ just goes black and i hear the error beep. When i press enter i am back at the desktop.

First, I don't know any other ways to delete cloud saves.

I apologize, but I'm still unclear about the extent of your problem. Do you have one specific cloud save that you can't load on either system, but everything else is OK? If so, I recommend abandoning that one game and starting a new one. Or are you unable to load any saves, from the cloud or from your hard drives? Or something else?

The Game crashes as soon as i press the "Load Game" Button, in the main menue. So i can't load ANY game. No Local, no Cloud no nothing.
I can start a new one and play it trough. But i can't save it ans load it again at a later time. Which makes it imposible to play as a civ game usually takes longer than just one evening...

I tryed again to delete my cloud saves, but i can't get the "Cloud Sync Conflict Dialog" anymore. Any tips for that?

So I'm now understanding that you can't load any saved games whatsoever. Some online research shows that this problem can be caused by a single corrupt save in your Steam cloud. You seem to be on the right track by trying to delete your cloud saves.

The instructions for doing so here appear to be simpler than those in the link you posted upthread. Do they work for you? I haven't tried this myself.

Another idea: Start a new game. Play a turn or two. Then save the game in the cloud, overwriting the cloud save that originally caused the problem. If the old cloud save was corrupt, the new one may not be.

Thanks for your input. Save to the cloud crashed to, at least at first.

I kind of solved it for the moment. I tryed again to delete the cloud files with the above mentioned method. But could not get the Sync Error anymore. So i kept on deleting the local cloud saves, and going online/offline with steam enabling and disabling cloud save etc. etc. Suddenly i could save to the cloud again and did therefore overwrite the old ones. Now as long as i stay offline with steam it works. I can load games and save games as much as i want. As soon as i go online with steam it crashes when i press the "Load Game" button.
Dosn't really make sense to me but...I can play.

Sorry i can't tell anyone else how to solve the problem exactly. Just keep playing around with online/offline options etc. eventually it worked for me.

For anyone else DON'T USE STEAM CLOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Petek. Really appreciated your help!

For the record, Steam Cloud will not work if Steam "thinks" you are playing two instances of the same licensed copy. You can not have both instances online at the same time. I am not saying that is what is going on, and steam cloud could be having issues.

If one exits the game properly. That is close steam; not logging off into offline mode; the cloud will work just fine.
