Question came to mine while doing an immortal rush, if I send the first built immortal to ambush a worker and steal him from the rush targeted civ, then use that immortal to pillage whatever enemy improvements have been built while waiting for the rest of my immortals to be built and arrive on the scene, will that encourage the AI to build another worker instead of a defender? Anyone know?

Im fairly certain that once an early war has been declared the AI prioritizes military defense. Whenever rushing I'ld always recommend building enough units to take down the target cities before DoWing.

If you can steal a worker early (say with exploring warrior), then make peace a few turns later, build immortals and redeclare, you've likely done yourself a favor.

If you declare abit later and steal a worker while your building up your attacking force, you've shot yourself in the foot because the AI is going to spam defensive units and turtle in his cities, thus making your job that much harder.

I did a rush on monarch the other day where I declared with my exploring warrior (worker steal) and slowly flooded the AI's single city site with units until I had enough to take his city. He built 1-2 workers (1 could have retreated into the city) 3 archers and 2 work boats. So he did not completely prioritize military, even though I never made peace with him. BTS, fully patched.
