Here's another map, this time of the Sahara. It stretches from Senegal to Persia. If you want, you can disable building cities on desert, to make gameplay more interesting. Map dimensions are 112x52.

Nice, will play soon.

Well, I just played through as Arabia. I started in the Egyps starting location. I've noticed a few problems. First off, there's way too few resources. With such a desolate map you need them. There's a sacrafice you have to make between playability and realism. Second, I'd reccomend more starting positions. With only 8 powers, that map is dominated by 4 or 5 empires very fast. Those guys then get the money to advance to the modern age while everyone else is still in the middle age. Perhaps you could add more of souther europe to place some starts but I'd recomend anywhere from 12-20 civs. Other than that, it's very great looking. I had lots of fun playing it even though I got stomped. I didn't really pay much attention in the editor, are there some modern resuorces?

I will start making some changes right away. Thank you very much for the feedback, Moby, I appreciate it.

Alright, I have finished updating the map, and the new download can be found in the first post. Here's the changes that I made:

- Added starting locations to make a total of 14
- Added lots more resources, especially strategic and modern
- Broke with realism a bit and provided most areas around starting locations
with some important strategic resources.

The pics in the second and third posts have been updated as well.

btw, no there were not many modern resources in the first version, and even in the update some are still not too easy to come by.

Just looked over it in the editor. It looks MUCH better but on some of the more important resources, you might've overcompensated a tad too much. I try to set it so for every two civs, there's one local resource (IE-Oil) with one or two scattered far from most othere civs. Great job. I had a lot of fun playing it.
