Hi all,
See the attached saved file.

I was planing to get the last prophet as Saladin and kept on playing whtout really thinking about it, and then after a while I though it was weird that I ddint get a religion. So I checked and indeed they were all taken. Did I do something wrong? Isn't the last religious great person supposed to go to Saladin when the second to last is created? He never came aroudn....

Or is this a bug?

My guess is that two AI civs generated the last two GPs on the same turn, before the overall "turn" ended and Arabia came back up again (the human player is always player 1 on a given "turn"). See https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/bug-the-last-prophet-arabia.601474/

This also may be related to the other reported circumstances where the game ended up with one more religion than the max. permitted religions due to the operation of Arabia's UA. See https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/bug-the-last-prophet-arabia.601474/#post-14530723.

It's not a bug, but a design error. That said, simply waiting for that Last Prophet to pop doesn't seem like a particularly clever strategy. Either you care about having a religion (and then the Arab UA is pretty pointless), or you don't (in which case the Arab UA is again pointless). You might call it a brain bug if you wish.

I ran into a variant of this - Arabia was eliminated before it founded a religion, and the last prophet hung around for the remainder of the game as unclaimable - yet city states kept giving quests to get one.

I can do you one better: as Egypt I'm currently in a game with 8 religions founded. In the survey it even says: '8 of 7 religions founded'. (Mind you, I am playing with modded Rome.)

That, I think, is supposed to be so. The prophet is still kept for the case someone liberates Arabia.

That's a known feature. It happens when two players acquire the 2nd-to-last and last prophets on the same turn. Arabia's UA triggers to allow one more Prophet than normal in the game.
