San Andreas - Quick questions

When you are able to stealth kill, CJ will be sort of holding his knife up, which allows you to initiate the kill without alerting everyone else.

Sneak up from behind - target the enemy - then use your knife to kill. Is the only thing I can think of that's not making you kill them effectively. I found escaping the mansion harder than actually sneaking in.
I know, I have trained on stealth kill before. I discovered the method by accident.

I guess the distance isn't perfect when I attack? I target him, get ready to attack and when I raise my arm to kill him, he detects me and instantly starts shooting. NPC's are crap shooters, but this close even they can't miss.

Edit:
I got it right. It turns out I was too close when I pushed circle to attack.

A side note about stealth kill:

Isn't it strange how easy you get a wanted level when stealth-killing people. If you use the knife in a non-stealthy way and stab people to death, you will only get a star if a cop saw you doing it. So also with most kinds of melee weapons, even the katana. Behead alot of people on the beach (where the police never patrols) with the katana, and you don't get no wanted level. Stealthy slit someones throat on the same beach, and the chance to get a wanted level is very high, similar as if you shoot them.

There are exceptions: Use of some melee weapons with the "gift" flag, like the cane (yes it actually got the gift flag, it's a glitch) and the dildo also very easily gets the cop's attention. (I've not tested flowers.)

:crazyeye: :crazyeye:

I encountered a drug dealer that behaved in a way I do find more than a little strange. Maybe I just got little experience with them, but I've met many.

This one sometimes fired his pistol at random directions, like he wanted attention. I've not seen this behaviour before so I watched this guy doing his business in between the shootings from across the street. It also looked like he had a helper, some unarmed guy in red pants was with him (neither had gang colors).

After some time I approached him, and then he starts firing the gun again, aiming at ME. He also asked if I wanted drugs and I gave a positive answer. Why the heck did he shoot me? :crazyeye: I didn't shoot back but he ran away, while he continued to shoot in the air.
I chased him down and took his $1430.

Crack-head?!

They go crazy sometimes, and if someone runs into them 1 too many times, they start firing their gun and running around.

Crazy is the word. I also think it was a way to advertize his stuff. Many cars stopped in the crossing, buying from him.

Was it you that didn't find all tags? I got great help from here:

It's maybe a cheat - sort of. But it doesn't come for free, one has to go around and do the work. Finding all locations without some sort of help is next to impossible.

I wonder if I want to do the Doberman mission as soon as possible, or if I should do other things first.

The reason I wonder is: When the gang wars first begin, will I have time to do other things or will I need to defend our territory almost all the time? I have no idea how often rival gangs will attack. The wars will probably be fun but I want to have time for other things too.

I will of course initiate some wars myself, my goal is to capture maybe 70% of Los Santos. I think that should be enough, I surely don't want 100% because zero oposition = no fun.

Is there a chance for one rival gang eliminating another CPU gang?

Another thing I'm curious about.

I have rescued and dated Denise. Last date was in the middle of the night, and the game clock is now 8 am. I drove denise home 3-4 hours ago, and my progress with her went up to 31%.

Now only a few hours later, I suddenly lost one point and it's now 30%. No message explained what happened.

What can lower the progress I have made, that is not mentioned in this guide?
See http://faqs.ign.com/articles/566/566567p1.html (ctrl+F and search for "27. GIRLFRIENDS").

Another time I lost 2%, just when I threw molotows on some people. Maybe it was a coincidense and the real reason was I didn't visit her that afternoon. I lost 2% several times in a short period of time. But this time I lost 1%, anyway she can't expect me to date her every 4 hours.

That happens a lot, and it really annoys me when you're almost 100% with someone and then BAM! Percent goes down.

About the 8-track race again (earlier discussed in post #69-82).

I was the only car left in the race and I finished lap 12 - and I LOST! As the only driver still in the race I got 12'th place. :crazyeye:

How I got alone? Arson :D . It works better than satchel charges. When the Hotbang Racers don't instantly blow up but instead begin to burn, the AI drivers jump out and leave the car. As long the driver lives, no new car spawns. A lot of "unemployed" people in the race track. :mischief:
I'm not believing it yet, but I actually won the dam 8-Track. I even had a bad start and didn't see victory as something realistic. Just thought this would be another practice, thinking... "maybe the car will last til 8'th lap this time?"

The cash I won was... $ 1000?!? It's supposed to be 10.000 I think.

Many times I miss and push the wrong button. But most times I do push the right button, still I might get no points..
I have difficulties with getting a total score higher than 800, and Denise is bored. How much points do I need? Last dance I got 730. :(

You do get a monster truck (and one of the racecars) parked outside the stadium if you win it as well :)

With girlfriends: I believe points drop naturally, in order to encourage you to take them out more often. More trouble than they're worth, in my opinion.

I have gotten so good with dancing, I can get to the 4th track or so when CJ is by himself. Dancing with Denise is uber easy once you know when to push the buttons.

"4th track?" Track=song? But you dance one song and that's it?

Easy you say. I try to push the button when the symbol is in the middle of the circle, and to time it with the beat of the music. I find it hard as winning a lottery.

How many points do I need in order to make Denise happy, or at least content?

Just dance your ass off and you should be fine.

When CJ is by himself, you can dance a whole bunch of tracks, just need to get a good enough score on each song. If you fail, you have to start the list over again :(

I didn't have to dance. If you drive around a couple of blocks in Idlewood, Denise is having fun with her machine pistol instead.  After about two blocks, she wants to go home - regardless if she got to dance or not. Maybe she just needs coffee after all that shooting. :p

And yes the progress is like after a successful date.

Help me with the language please..

This message, "Attack enemy gang members while on foot", how is it to be understood?

Who needs to be walking? The prey or the predator? Both?

You have to be walking. Like, you can shoot the enemy from their car and it'll count as a kill before the gang war initiates.

Thanks.

I completed "Doberman". I can now see on the map all gang areas.

But wait, there's some missing...: Cesar Vialpando's gang - the Aztecas, they have no turf on the map? But they got at least the Unity Station and the surroundings?

Green, purple, yellow - those colors are on the map, but not turquoise.
