Hey Everyone,

I'm really eagar to play some of the Civ I maps ya'll are making. However, I have the Windows Version of Civ and was wondering if there was a way to convert DOS files to Windows files. It says in the FAQ that there's an update that allows you to do this. Does such an update exist and where can you find it?

...everybody can draw for example CivNet Maps/Szenarios because CivNet comes with a map editor.
i don't know but i thought that WinCiv has it's MapEditor too?

...
in Civ.2 and 3 scenarios are nothing special and 1000s are released all around the web...
.
.
anyway -
why not playing CivDos Maps/scenarios in CivDos?

...the special thing about (our) CivDos Maps/Scenarios is
that we couldn't find much CivDos user-designed ones on the i-net since 1995
and nothing else since 1991!

since 2001/2002 there is a working editor (that excel based) available
but nearly nobody did 'design' something for the public
or those who did draw
did design just for themselves and didn't release / post anything.

Now we start to 'wake up CivDos' (a little) ;)

"why not playing CivDos Maps/scenarios in CivDos?"

Umm, because I don't have it :annoyed:
And I see no reason to have it, I'm nastolgic but not that much. WinCiv is much better graphically and you lose no gameplay from the conversion (except a few gross bugs).

I would just like some kind of information on the conversion from DOS to Windows sav games since WinCiv allows you to play beyond the recorded time and CivNet doesn't (which is frustrating).

o.k.

look what i have found --->

CivNet has a game editor,
that creates the same files as WinCiv?

Can somebody confirm this?

If it is so
there are scenarios for winciv 'outside'...

simply take CivNet scenarios -
i found some on the net just a few months ago.
