During the course of playing several games over the last few months, I have a collection of saved games that I no longer need. How can I discard or erase these? I am afraid that they may clog up any free space in the game and cause it to slow or shut down.

Go into your Saves folder within the main Civ3 folder in Programs and delete whatever saves you wish :)

They won't slow anything down, unless your HD fills. The autosave function has a tiny impact as it save those uncompressed files.

The easiest way to delete saves, for me, is to use CAII. Once you point it to the save folder. You can use the file tool and see all your files and delete them with the delete hot key.

I have a seperate folder for each game I start, which is mostly SGs or HoF attempts. I try to manually save at the start and end of each turn and, if needed, in mid-turn, because sometimes my PC will crash. So I will have a lot of saves for any one game.

This way, when it comes time to delete a game or move it to a CD, everything is altogether in one location.

This doesn't answer your question directly, but it might be helpful.

Sorry nothing seems to work, once I go to Programs there is no Saved Files...I have been playing so many games, I am afraid that this is effecting my ability to access the internet..

My Conquest files will only load to WINNT (my os is win 2000) so I have my vanilla and ptw files there too. Each has it's own "save" file. do a search for .sav and save. You will find them.
