Saving Multiplayer Games?

Hey folks,

So, I was playing a game online with a bud that we wanted to save, so I used CTRL+S to try and save the game. When we signed back on, I wasn't able to find the specific save I made, but I did find an autosave for that same turn so that worked.

But where did my named save go? And if I can't actually access that named save I'm a little afraid that I'll lose the autosaves at some point. Is there anyway to safegaurd those? I've heard there's some tricks to saving multiplayer games, but this does seem a little rediculous.

If you're on Windows it will be under My Documents->My Games->Civ 5->Saves->Multi (something along those lines)

Rename the file to 'OldAutoSave_' (whatever). It seems to filter based on either 'AutoSave_' or 'OldAutoSave_' I use the OldAutoSave prefix for my saves.

Move file into subfolder named 'auto'

Relaunch Civ V and try to load the multiplayer game from there.

This is how I have to do it, I don't know if they made it any easier with the new patch but this is what I have done and this is what works for me.
