Saving Rome Round 1 LochNorFarm(Romans)vGnarflinger(Barbarians)

Whoa... here comes the cavalry. Knew those Sassanids were out there somewhere.

3 Hun cav killed though, so for the moment I can celebrate a victory.

I thought about including the message "Here comes the pain" with the save, but I thought it was premature...

Besides, the RNG could screw me like a whitehouse intern...

Well in that case, here comes the pain! No chance for us Romans, we're going down in flames!

Reverse jinx completed, on to the battles:

After dromon bombardment, Entremont razed with 2 spearmen, 1 raider killed and 1 warlord killed nearby. Also, a trebuchet bombardment on the approaching Sassanid hordes... let's see how this goes...

I'm swopping techs too, at least as soon as I can get contact with everyone :) It's all in the nature of good relations under the high warlord of
everything not Roman
. And probably the biggest reason why Rome is hard to win with.

I figured that the one celt city was toast...

Better get my hits in now... those Vandals are coming in full force.

Londinium: Treb. hits, 2 Celt warlords killed.

Caiseal: Dromon hits, 2 Celt spearmen killed, 1 Roman cav lost. Caiseal razed.
1 Celt warlord, Celt dromon killed nearby.

Antioch: Treb hits, 5 Sass cav killed.

Dromon injures Hun cav on road.

Damn. Here's hoping that the Vandals can vandalize Rome a bit...

And now the Celts strike back. This could get ugly...

2 Celt spears killed in Alesia, Alesia razed. Also, 2 Celt dromons sunk, 1 worker captured.

Also, trebuchet bombardment on the approaching Vandals.

But will it be ugly enough? You've cut the iron to my Cities on Ireland...

Bad tactics on my part early on, and that let him build up a bit more than he would otherwise have. I won't repeat those mistakes this time...

no problem. The turn will be waiting for you when you get back.

I killed a Garrison near a Hun city, and a Legion where your Cavalry had retreated to.

Things are looking bleak for the Celts on Ireland...

Vindobona: Treb attack, 15 Vandal warlords killed, 2 Roman cav lost.

1 Hun cav killed on the road.

Still holding the line against those Vandals...

Yeah, I think that may be close to the target if both halves of the Roman empire are totaled for VP...

Dunno if the two halves thing is a VP win or not, but I'm still playing it out.

Dun Ailinne: 2 Celt warlords killed.

Londinium: Treb. bombardment.
9 Celt warlords killed, 2 Celt marauders killed, 2 trebs captured.
2 Roman cavs killed, 1 retreated.

Friti...something: 2 Goth spears killed, Friti razed.

All my offensives have gone down the drain, and my production capacity is being wiped out. I'm guessing that It will be a loss anyway...
