I've posted a few times on this forum, im kinda new to all this seeing as Civ 5 G&K is my first ever strategy game and only my second ever pc game...been playing pc game for about 4-5 months. I enjoy the good posts and replies I read and hopefully I can get a few good answers. I just recently finally got Immortal culture and Immortal science victories back to back after trying for a very very long time.

Im not necessarily getting board of game but I feel like trying something new and by chance I just found out theres "scenarios" you can play. I still consider myself a noob simply because I've only really used 3-4 civ's and I only ever played culture or science based games..almost to war games...

I was just wondering of all the scenarios that come with the G&K gold pack, which are considered to be a little easier...maybe allowing for a few more "mistakes" along the way. I know its completely depended on the play style but I'm pretty sure theres a couple that are known to be a little less tough. If you can suggest a couple, i'd appreciate it.

I'm not picky about what type of game (science, culture, war, wide, tall...etc) I enjoy just playing and having a goal so even if one of the scenerios is considered to be a little borring, don't worry about it.

Also, if possible, I'd really appreciate a little description/strategy for your suggestions..anything.

I"ll researching for strategies for various scenarios but if you have a good link for a guide, that be great!

Thanks everyone!

The following are pretty easy:

Mongolia on settler.

The Polynesian one on Warlord (or below) as any civ.

Explorers as a native American civ on Warlord or below.

Korean as Korea on any difficulty level. (It's actually a challenge to lose as Korea even on Diety; unless you hit resign.)

thanks for the info. I'll give one of those a go and see what happens..

have a good one!

Another thing I might recommend is "trophy hunting."

That is going out before you start the game and try to unlock as many of the achievements on steam as possible. I've found doing this encouraged me to play in ways I normally wouldn't (for example, small or archipelago maps, different civs, one city challenge, doing specific things with specific civs, etc.

Failing that, start checking out all the mods on the steam workshop. They can be as simple as adding a civ or dramatically changing the gameplay.

It's impossible to lose Korea as Korea on anything. You're teamed with China who do three times better than anybody else. The Polynesia one is easy and not focused on war. I've done 1066 as both Denmark and England, Norway and the Normans start to far from London.

Im shameless achievement hunter, so im interested in the scenarios as well. However im only a mediocre player. I won my first king game few weeks ago with polynesia on an archipelago map, so scenarios are often even more difficult (especially cause i suck at the war part). However i can share some tips and experiences.

First of all, all video walkthroughs on youtube that are older than 1-1.5y are useless. There is however one recently done over the mongols on deity, and i managed to replicate it (not exatly offcours, mainly the first stages), and he puts tips in his subtitles.

Achievements for scenario wins dont trickle down, except for the mongols. Which means that if you win on deity, you wont get the other 3 difficulty achievements. So therefore its probably easiest to play as the hardest civ on king, and as the easiest civ on deity if you dont want double work.

I managed to win viking destiny as Norway on Deity. The trick is to have a great engineer ready by the time london isnt in resistance anymore, to rush the doomsday book. I did it just when the normans gathered up south of the thames. Compared to YT walkthroughs, the english have more troops, cause they ally with more CS, so you will get attacked from the north. The danish will push from the east, but get stuck in the marshes, waiting to be shot at.

For wonders of the ancient world, ive heard that you can win on deity if you are enough luck to have marble nearby when playing as egypt. Here my best effort was to win as gilgamesh on king on a random map (cause of the GS you get).

Korea i havent tried properly yet. This scenario is barely covered, at least for manchu and china. Although here again ive heard that manchu is the hardest.

conquest of the new world, empire of the smokey skies and paradise found dont have difficulty achievements, so i played them on warlord-prince, cant really help. The difficulty achievements for ItR and FoR, they are too high for me at the moment.

But yes, all in all, the lack of scenario guides is quite surprising

Anyone got any advice for normandy on emperor for viking destiny? Almost all coastline cities are too close to london to build the shrine, and without the beserker/amphibious you go way slower.

I'm split between two strategies: Sail past chicester/dover etc... and make your way from exeter up north. Problem is that your reinforcements have nowhere to land, and you waste your first 5-6 turns. Or take them and then get hammered between english and denmark...

Do the other AI's build the shrines? Cause it would be usefull if you didnt have to build them yourself
