Schwartz' FfH Series - Planning Thread

I have worked on my Balseraph idea and I think it's gotten rather good, actually.
If you don't mind, Schwartz, I would like to start it myself, probably wednesday or thursday, as part of the series (SCH0002) - is this okay with you (and with the SG naming conventions)?

Basically, the idea is this

Spoiler SCH0002 - Balseraph :

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme,
Remember me to one who lives there,
She once was a true love of mine.

The idea is built around the odd nature of the mind of the Balseraph. Basically, this is done by implementing several "rules", such as it is seen in RB games and RPCs. This will be a mix of the two, built around the song/poem "Scarborough Fair", by Simon and Garfunkel. The lyrics will be posted in the bottom of this post.

The rules could be something like:

Reports must be done in poetic verses - preferably in the rythm of the song.

The Capital city of the empire must be named Scarborough (or Scarborough Fair).

The players must implement a sense of madness that fits the Balseraphs insanity.

The World spell may only be used in the first turn of a turnset (not inherited turn, but first turn you actually play of your turns).

Unique buildings and Carnivals has priority over other buildings.

Unique units and units with significant Balseraph skins have priority over other units.

Spoiler Lyrics :
Simon and Garfunkel said:
Are you goin to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Remember me to one who lives there,
She once was a true love of mine.

Tell her to make me a cambric shirt,
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Without no seams nor needlework,
Then she'll be a true love of mine.

Tell her to find me an acre of land,
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Between the salt water and the sea strand,
Then she'll be a true love of mine.

Tell her to reap it in a sickle of leather,
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
And to gather it all in a bunch of heather,
Then shell be a true love of mine.

Are you goin to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Remember me to one who lives there,
She once was a true love of mine...

What do you think of this?

Diamondeye:
Go ahead! I have no problem with you starting that game under the "SCH" moniker. I was decided on Perpentach for game 2 anyway, to be honest. The only decision to be made was which variant rules to use.
When it's filled I need to be at the END of the roster because I'll be very busy with school in the immediate future. (I may not even be able to play but I'm hopeful)
Writing reports in verse is a challenge in and of itself for me :p

If you haven't started it yourself by thursday I will probably open it up myself.

A game where you have to write your report in verse and play utterly crazy?

Sounds like my type of game... :D

Okay so me, Schwartz and PaulusIII are already in - btw isn't Perpentach the Kuriotate leader, and not the Balseraph leader? Or am I just a confused nuthead?

Any way, I will start up the game tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

Nah Perpentach is the Balseraph leader. Cardith something is the Kuriotate leader.

Hello general FFH planning thread!

.34 has been released and I'm wondering who wants to take the Illians for a trial run. At least Emperor, praps Immortal, maybe Pangaea?

First time Illians only please :)

Damn thread hijackers :p

j/k. Good luck with that game, I'll be too busy to participate, though.

Woo! :bump: We might want to think of starting the third game if anyone has interest in it, since SCH002 is Epic speed and will probably last forever... Am I the only one thinking this - perhaps after christmas where people are less busy? Perhaps even Jan 1st..?

I'm interested in trying. I only play at monarch level though, & I'm fairly inexperienced in sucession games :(

@Diamondeye
I was thinking along the same lines.. I've been very inactive lately and SCH0002, while a good idea, is just not moving along quickly enough right now..
I like the idea of starting #3 right after Christmas, so that gives everyone a chance to chip in on our variant.

@Dux:
All are welcome! I couldn't even beat Monarch if I tried today. It's been a very long time since I've played a whole game O_O. Throw in an idea for game 3 if you're interested.
PS: Are you the same Dux that I remember from the "Age of ___" series?

I was thinking of Amurites for the third game, should we start it in the beginning of the new year?

Oh and apart from me, you (schwartz) and Dux, who will be playing?

Aren't you guys already on holiday, I am, I would like a sooner start, maybe before Christmas to lay a few turns. I agree with playing the amurites, should be fun & microheavy :D

I'm not on holiday yet and neither am I able to play Civ because my laptop is still in repair. I'll play in SCH0003 though.

While I like the idea of making the third installment magic-oriented as opposed to the first 'might-oriented' or the second 'disoriented' I find the Amurites to be a bit meh. Maybe another magic-based civ?

I don't have much fleshed-out ideas at the moment, though.

@Dux:
That would be me :)

I like the idea of a magic-oriented game, and have no problem starting it up before christmas if we can. I was thinking of Flauros/Sheaim as a possible leader, but I'm open to anything if we want to play Amurites. I'll have to brush up on my game before we get going though!

I'd like to play a magic oriented game if you start one.

Most logical civilizations for it would be the Amurites, Sheaim, Grigori, or Calabim.

It would be much more interesting game if we played the Elohim and used the tolerant trait to gain Eater of Dreams and Wizards, as well as the illusive Ice mana of the Illians.

Hmm... If Amurites are out of the picture, perhaps Sheaim? And then me, Dux, Saytr, Paulus and yourself on roster? Do we need one more perhaps?

And normal gamespeed for gods sake, this time :p

I like the Sheaim. They're well suited for a magic-heavy game, especially Tebryn with two magic traits (Unless they changed that).

@ Diamondeye: Yes, normal speed please. I have on occasion (and by that I mean EVERY FREAKIN' TIME :p) posted in the Balseraph game that I think that Epic is too slow for FFH.
