EDIT: Turns out there is a very similar post here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=503007, i will use this, so you can close this one!
Hi there, i'm new to these forums although i've been skulking around a bit looking for some awesome strategies but could never truely find what I was looking for.
I had this idea to have a small empire which puts the focus on rushing through the science tree to gain a significant tech advantage and using that to create troops that are highly advanced compared to the rest of the world and simply domination all territory with them.
So i've been playing around a bit with Babylon and I end up with 2 cities around 30-35 ish population on turn 300-something and barely reaching into the Modern Era, which is terrible, I know. I play on prince usually since i'm still getting into the game at my own pace but I was wondering if you guys had any tips/tricks to achieve this type of victory?
Also how would city management best be done, set the city to food focus while manually assigning specialists? Would it be best to have a few (3-4) cities that have a big population or more? Which civ would benefit more from having more cities in terms of science gain, what i mean is, does the leader bonus from Babylon still outweigh the bonus of another if that civ benefits more from having more cities. I noticed the % increase in science required for techs but cities produce more than that cost right?
(to further go into how i tried to do it)
I started out with babylon and basically tried to rush all science buildings while focusing on food production, keeping all specialists active and getting a few wonders(probably too many) I then built a second city which had a large amount of good farm spots and did the same thing there but without the wonders simply because the hammers were waay to low. After turn 120 it turned into a "spam the next turn button" game for me. I ended up with barely 700 beakers a turn at 318. I'm sure it could be done better!
Thanks for your time!
