Science Maze moves disappearing

I realize maze moves disappear when one discovers a tech but after the maze I was still about 2k short of discovering the tech. I had 98 moves left when I completed the maze, next maze I had 30. Early Atomic Era game #9529.

There always used to be a maximum number of moves that could be carried over. At one time it was only 5, that was then increased to I think around 30. I don't know if that is still the case (I haven't played for quite a long while) or if you have another problem.
