Scoring complete?

What's the deal? I'm playing a game and check out my score. it says "scoring complete"

It means you've already finished the game by
a) killing everyone
b) having any player succesfuly land on Alpha Centauri

..or you reached 2020AD.

None of the 3, the game is in progress. Is why I ask because it pisses me off to play x amount of time and find out score isn't working.

Did you end a previous game in the process of winning (you conquered the world in one way or the other, but the final score hadn't shown up yet)? That usually causes Civ2 to screw up and record the next game you start up (if you don't quit Civ2 in between) as being completed.
