Getting Foundation Exp and Exp for specific challenges, but not for leader's challenges

There's a weird thing happening with my version of the game where I don't get experience for the leader challenges, only for the specific challenges such as building some wonder with some civilization. Even scimple challenges such as completing the economic objectives in the antiquity age or completing an age don't give me any leader exp. I played three complete games with Machiavelli and didn't earn any experience, he's still level 1!

I linked my 2k account properly and I check to see if my account is linked when I complete these challenges by seeing if there's a green icon telling me I'm online. I tried opening a ticket on their platform and they didn't sort out what the issue is. I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue that I am and if they found a solution for it because it sucks that I can't level up my leaders.
