Screen Blacking Out

Well, got a new video card and monitor while ago... So my games would either not work or the screen would black out. Now that i've installed every single thing I needed to for my video card and monitor, there is only 1 game which blacks out now, which is Civilization 3...

And what I mean by blacking out is, by the screen going black, reappearing, black, reappearing, black...

Try forcing the Refresh Rate and the Video Mode. Add these lines to your .ini file:

Refresh=XX
Video Mode=(1024,1152,1280,1600,1792) Depending on your screen resolution. Oh, and note the space there too. XX would be your screen's refresh rate.

Where would I put these in the ini?

Pick a line, any line. Just make sure it's not sharing a line with another entry.

My Video Card is an Asus Radeon A9250 and my Monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 191T Plus

Do you know recommended settings for those configurations?

Sorry, I don't. My next suggestion would be to make sure you have the latest drivers, but you've already done that.

Sounds like a refresh rate issue

What rate are you using? What resolution?

Resolution of 1280x1024, refresh rate of 70. (It was before 60, but I changed it to 70)
