Screen Resolution wont go any higher

my screen resolution was up at 1280x1024 but yesterday i accidently hit the sleepmode button on my keyboard and now i cant get my resolution above 1024x768

what the hell

yes i also reinstalled my video drivers

my video card is a ATI radeon HD 5670

whats the windows display control panel? is that right clicking and selecting screen resolution? cause i did that to

Usually the CCC has a bit more control. And yes, the windows display control panel would be right clicking on the desktop.

Then the new monitor probably has a smaller native resolution then the previous one. If there is a way to force an LCD (as I assume it is) monitor to have a higher resolution I don't know of it nor would it be useful as it would go off the edges of the screen.

yup it was the monitor i switched back to my monster and it went back to normal

Exactly. An LCD can only display smaller resolutions without going out of bounds.
