Please be aware that glorious Viking scientists have
discovered a technology of the Industrial Age thus
nullifying an existing peace agreement between our
countries. Therefore, the nations of Spain and
Portugal are considered as hostile towards the
Scandinavian Kingdom before a suitable agreement is
made between our parties.
The armies of Portugal had violated the territory of
the Viking State and therefore the following
settlements had been attacked. This is the battle
report:
Settlement of Braga: 2 zerks kill 2 warriors and Braga
is razed.
Settlement of Tavir: zerk kills warrior, settlement is
razed.
Settlement of Ourique: zerk kills spearmen and another
zerk kills warrior, settlement is captured."

Portugal attempted a very nice suprise landing on Eastern Scandinavian subcontinent. Fortunately, due to some new technology, Viking generals were able to instantly transfer enough troops to butcher the invaders while the attacking force was able to capture one city and raze another.
Also, since Spain is very poor and small, it is time to declare war. War was declared but no action had been taken yet. So, for at least one turn, Spain can enjoy war happiness.

Rumors in local taverns say that pirates were greatly angered by the bizzare behavior of English fleet and have instilled some revenge on them by sinking 3 English caravels. After all, these pirates are a peaceful folks, they are not attacking neutral ships, mostly battling with barbarian galleys and converting them into more pirates.
