Second Monitor Goes Black

Very weird. Whenever I click on Civ 5 on my primary monitor, my secondary monitor goes black. This does not seem to happen every time though. When I was playing two nights ago, it was going black. Last night it worked fine.. I could click on my second monitor and surf the web waiting for planes or AI turns. But tonight it is doing it again. If I want to see stuff on my second monitor I have to Alt - Tab.

I want to say this started happening after the patch, but I think it might have happened a couple times before the patch. But not almost every time I play.

I have it set to fullscreen with Bind Mouse set to never.

I had the same monitor issue prior to the patch. Random.

Are you using HDMI? That will sometimes get "handshake" issues. May need to turn off everything and unplug cables. Plug them back in and turn everything back on.

No. DVI on both monitors.

Yeah, it does seem random. It is working fine right now. I have a suspicion it has to do with what you click on or alt tab during loading screens.

This happens to me too. If I tab out, sometimes it goes black and sometimes its fine. It seems to have to do with whether or not I've clicked on the desktop on the second monitor, or whether I have something else selected on it. If I click on the destop, and then switch back to Civilization, it seems to work fine. Lots of weird errors with this patch.
